This film was always going to be an interesting one. Not and X-Men film, and not an origin film, but purely about Wolverine. Hugh Jackman has always taken the role seriously and that is one of the great things about the partnership. There is a reason why Robert Downey Jr is Iron Man, and Hugh Jackman is Wolverine; they aren't playing their characters, they ARE their characters.

As would be expected in a film about an immortal, rapid healing, mutant with an indestructible endoskeleton, there is an event in the start that renders these powers moot, and creates the option of an ordinary life, or risking his life for immortality. With the emotional baggage that Wolverine has, combined with an aging Hugh Jackman, it proved to be a much less predictable answer than expected.

I found the environment a bit disconcerting, as it was so different to all the prior films, but it kept my interest. This was much slower, and far darker than usual, but it worked. The action scenes were still very full-on, even if they were less graceful than most, and had a very american "shoot first ask questions later", or "if you aren't winning, then hit them harder" approach.

The ending felt off, with the eventual "final form" of the villain being revealed, and well I was honestly less than impressed with it. Whether it was because I was unfamiliar with the comic history, I can't say, but the final battle felt anticlimactic, compared to the rest of the film.

Still definitely worth a watch though, Jackman deserves it.

To be honest I was not sure whether to put this under action or drama. There is a lot of talking. Don't get me wrong there is some fabulous action as well. Actually some of the best I have to say, when it comes to fast trains but there is a lot of bla bla bla as well. Its not boring though I didn't want to grab my tablet and surf at all I was still very intrigued but it was heavier than I think it needed to be.

It has definitly renewed my love for Japan and the culture. The scenery was breath taking and I love those Japanese Paper Walled Houses. The special effects were right up there especially when it came to Viper shedding her skin, the fight scenes were not boring and as a whole it was a really great movie.

Wolverine can not forgive himself for Jean Greys death so he has isolated himself from general population. When he is asked to go to Japan to see a dying acquaintance he finds trouble waiting for him and the opportunity to die also raises its head.

It is predictable in some ways but yet there are a few surprises, more so after the credits start to rise. Personally I think he went with the wrong chick and would of preferred the romance to be with his now, bodyguard. I really enjoyed this movie and if you love X-men this is definitly a movie you will need to see.
