After seeing the movie I wasn't expecting much from the soundtrack. The snippets heard throught the film seemed to be somewhat disjointed and too short to really get an idea of the song in most cases, although the musical overtones during the hefty combat scenes were long enough, too long and distracting in places.

However, once I had the CD in-hand, and in-player, I had the chance to hear all the songs at their proper length, and was given the opportunity to be impressed... an opportuinity I took gleefully. This is a kickin' soundtrack indeed! With high-pace, mellow, action and disaster all wrapped up in a soundscape that was not done much justice by the ham-handed hacking the sound engineers gave it to fit into the film.

Overall, this was a soundtrack that really took me by surprise. There is a lot more to it than you would expect from what you heard in the cinema, and with the ability to adjust the volume to suit your own listening preferences, you won't find your ears blasted into submission... unless you want it that way. :)
