The Encyclopedia of Immaturity Volume 2 product reviews

The Encyclopedia of Immaturity has been such a hit that Klutz are following up with a second book.

The Encyclopedia of Immaturity Volume 2 includes thought-provoking topics such as how to slide down a banister, what we're talking about when we talk about wedgies, how to send a toilet gram, and much more.

It's all new and all hopelessly goofy.

Some time ago (back in 2011) thanks to KIWIreviews I received a book by Klutz called My Immaturity Diary. My then 11 year old really enjoyed it and so I wanted to find a similar style book for my then 10 year old. I contacted KIWIreviews and with their help I purchased a copy of this Encyclopedia of Immaturity (Vol 2). Which my 10 year old thoroughly enjoyed. I never read it when we got it, just flicked through it quickly.

Three years down the track I have frequently found myself picking this book up from the kitchen table, the couch, and even (on several occassions) the bathroom floor. So after putting it away for the up-tenth time, andknowing my son received it three years ago, I decided I needed to flick through it to see why it was still in circulation (and not lost somewhere) for my boys so long after receiving.

I remember being impressed by the cover when we first received it. It has a very thick, sturdy hard cover, covered in a very thick material like covering. This is an ideal cover (front and back) for a childs book. Especially one aimed at boys and based on immaturity. The spine of the book has stretched out a bit from regular reading but other than this the cover is still in excellent condition. The pages too have stood the tests of time. Clearly thumbed through a lot and obviously well read but also still looking excellent. I was very impressed by this.

So this morning I too read the encyclopedia of immaturity. I can see why books like this can appeal to tween boys, or in my case now, teen boys and adults lol the pages (and there are many of them) are jam-packed full of fun things to read and do, silly things to put together and make. Things that would and do very much appeal to the male population, both young and old. And it was while reading this book I realised where my boys have perhaps learned some of things they have done over the years. Some things that may seem silly and well lets just say immature haha like 'how to make rude noises three ways', 'completely armless jacket fights', 'how to booby trap a drink', 'putting on a kick me sticker' to things slightly less immature and much more practical like 'how to 360 a scooter'.

This really is a fantastic book and in a world full of technology ond that I highly recommend for boys in the 8-16 year bracket to keep them off their bums and doing things :) Definitely two thumbs up from me and obviously my boys too :)

Product image for Crazy For The Storm - A Memoir of SurvivalMy father craved the weightless glide. He chased the hurricanes and blizzards to touch the bliss of riding mighty waves and deep powder snow. An insatiable spirit, he was crazy for the storm. And it saved my life.
