Twilight Zone: The Movie product reviews

You're travelling through another dimension. A dimension, not only of sight and sound, but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. Next stop, the Twilight Zone!

Four directors collaborated to remake four episodes of the popular television series 'The Twilight Zone' for this movie. The episodes are updated slightly and in colour (the television show was in black-and-white), but very true to the originals, where eerie and disturbing situations gradually spin out of control.

Twilight Zone: The Movie takes a few episodes and gives them a tweak for the big screen.

The movie itself is made up of four short movies. In the first one a man is drinking at the bar, having just been skipped for a promotion, after spouting various racial slurs he goes outside to find himself in Nazi Germany appearing as a Jew to everyone else, then a black man in the middle of a KKK meeting, and a Vietnamese man during the war. The second segment is an elderly man going to a rest home, he invites everyone to a late night game of kick the can, one stays behind and then discovers that all the others have been made young again. I rather enjoyed the second one, the kids did a great job of portraying a child as an old soul, full of experience, some wishing to reclaim their youth and others happy with just one night.

The third segment is about a young woman, on the road to a new career who ends up helping out a young boy who is being bullied. When she gets him home she discovers that he isn't just a little boy and is holding his 'family' hostage inside the home, using his abilities to get what he wants, this was my least favourite segment of the lot just because it felt too far out there. The final segment is about a man, who one can assume has a big fear of flying, who starts to see something damaging one of the wings of the plane and naturally freaks out, I rather like this one, and who wouldn't be freaked out if they thought they saw something on the outside of a plane when there should be nothing at all.

All in all not a bad film, adds to the TV series well as well as being a good introduction to the series.

Product image for The Gods Must Be Crazy 2Xixo is back again. This time, his children accidentally stow away on a fast-moving poachers' truck, unable to get off, and Xixo sets out to rescue them. Along the way, he encounters a couple of soldiers trying to capture each other and a pilot and passenger of a small plane, who are each having a few problems of their own.
