It was just another after-work happy-hour bar down town, where business professionals unwound with a few drinks . . .until something went terribly wrong. And after twelve minutes of chaos and violence, eighty people lay dead.

One of my favourite books in the series so far, Delusion in Death is a great addition to the In Death series from J.D. Robb (aka Nora Roberts).
In Delusion in Death, Eve Dallas and her team have to deal with a huge crime scene, walking into bar where over eighty people are dead, having apparently all turned murderous on each other for no reason at all. The stress mounts and the death toll rises when it occurs in another store, again people killing each other and stopping just as suddenly. Figuring out it is a biological weapon conceived of during the Urban Wars they now need to track down and catch those responsible before more die.
What could be more scary though, knowing there is a weapon that can make you loose your mind and start to blindly kill those around you without motivation whilst hallucinating at the same time? Just awful, but so well written, there's nothing more graphic than any of the previous books and it is convincing in the way it is written. As always, great development with the integral characters and I really can't wait to see where she takes them from here, glad she isn't rushing Peabody into marriage just yet.
Another good addition to a fun book series.
