The Last of Us product reviews

The population has been decimated. The United States government has collapsed long ago. Twenty years after the outbreak, abandoned cities are slowly reclaimed by nature. Roaming bands of survivors are killing each other for food, weapons, or whatever they can get their hands on.

Joel, a ruthless survivor with few moral lines left to cross, lives in one of the last remaining Quarantine Zones. These walled-off, oppressive cities are run by what's left of the military. Despite the strict martial law, Joel operates in the black market of the city, smuggling contraband for the right price.

Joel is asked by a dying friend to look after Ellie, a fourteen-year-old girl with courage beyond her years. What starts out as a simple job to deliver Ellie to another Quarantine Zone, soon transforms into a profound journey that will forever change Joel and Ellie.

As they trek across a post-pandemic United States, Joel and Ellie will encounter different factions of survivors that have each found a unique way of dealing with the infected humans, the lack of supplies, and the threat of other survivors. As Joel and Ellie struggle to persevere, they must learn to trust each other and work together in order to survive the realities of this new world.

At its core, The Last of Us is about the bond that forms between Joel and Ellie - it is the story of love, loyalty, and redemption.

Features:
    •  Become the hunter and the hunted in a brutal post-pandemic world. Play as Joel, a ruthless survivor, who is paired with Ellie, a brave young teenage girl, as they work together to endure a dangerous trek across a familiar, yet post-pandemic United States.
    •  Intense character-driven narrative featuring a cast of resonant characters that take you on a rich, emotional journey via Naughty Dog's award-winning cinematic storytelling, performance capture, and high-production values.
    •  Explore a decimated, overgrown America reclaimed by nature, marked with remnants of human civilization juxtaposed against beautiful, lush environments, delivered by realistic and stunning graphics.
    •  Strategize how to survive enemy encounters as the Balance of Power AI system continuously adapts to whether Joel or the enemies gain the upper hand. Quickly maneuver to survive encounters as enemies will change their behavior based on what weapon they see Joel holding, how many of them are left alive, and whether the player has managed to surprise them.
    •  Learn how to survive day-by-day: scavenge for vital resources, craft weaponry out of environmental objects, and compete with other survivors for limited supplies and ammo.

The Last Of Us is a new game from the Uncharted Studio Naughty Dog. It is essentially a zombie game, but they are not the traditional zombies you see in movies and TV shows, they are like a fungal infection though all the same terrifying!

the game follows the story of a man called Joel who is trying to find his way through this world by surviving best he can, until he encounters a girl called Ellie who is escorting to a hospital for a particular reason which I do not wish to spoil for you. through out their adventure the two of them start to form a bond neither one of intended to happen.

The game play is reminiscent of Uncharted, but in a good way. This is a survival game, supplies are scarce and ammo is at times a rarity which make you really think what each individual situation is best to go in guns blazing or try to sneak around and go for the silent kills.

Graphicly it is just amazing, it pushs the limits of what the PS3 can do and it completely pulls it off. The remastered version of this is about to come out on the PS4 and I have it pre-ordered and cannot wait to play this again!

So I asked my husband his thoughts on this game 'it's awesome!' was his response, however not very helpful for a two hundred review I'm afraid.

My husband got this when we bought our Playstation 3 as part of the package (and them making up for letting us think a 12GB console would be easy to upgrade memory wise). Given all the hype on this game he was very happy to get the game and eager to give it a go. You start off when the outbreak hits, and meet Joel as he tries to flee to safety with his daughter, we then skip forward to twenty years later and Joel ends up being asked to escort Ellie to people who believe they can use her to find a cure.

During the game you need to evade those who would stop you reaching your destination, those who are out for number one and would therefore kill/torture/rape etc. you and then there are the zombies, your regular ones, mutated ones and clickers (who use sonar to find you). The graphics are very good, not too gory a game but it does have some graphic parts to it.

The storyline is good, there are some moving moments, some laughs (like 'why are the pages stuck together' when looking at a porn magazine) and so on. This is full of everything needed to make a good game and it is easy to see why it is such a popular game. Husband has clocked it once and is already playing through again whilst really enjoying the online gameplay as well.
