The Heat product reviews

The Heat is a 2013 American action-comedy film following FBI Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) and Detective Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy), who must take down a ruthless mobster.

Uptight and straight-laced, FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn is a methodical investigator with a reputation for excellence-and hyper-arrogance. Shannon Mullins, one of Boston P.D.'s "finest," is foul-mouthed and has a very short fuse, and uses her gut instinct and street smarts to catch the most elusive criminals. Neither has ever had a partner, or a friend for that matter. When these two wildly incompatible law officers join forces to bring down a ruthless drug lord, they become the last thing anyone expected: buddies.

Miss Congeniality meets Lethal Weapon. Why do they make girl movies and try and make them funny by being crude and dirty the whole time. The few roles I have seen Melissa McCarthy in, is basically her swearing, burping and acting like a crude guy. I don't find her funny at all. This movie had so much potential but fails to meet it.

The one scene that really annoyed me is at the end Sandra gets stabbed in the leg and carries on like its the end of the world. Now if Arnold Schwarzenegger or Bruce Willis get stabbed they man up and deal with it. They still fight and walk around but not Miss Bullock she falls over and has to get a wheel chair. It made it seem like girls can not handle pain. True I am sure it would of hurt but not to the extent she carried on. Also when arriving at the hospital she drags her body around on the floor and leaves no trace of the blood, actually even when stabbed there is no sign of blood. If you are going to play with the boys at least act like them some.

Watching the previews for this it looks like it is going to be really neat and enjoyable movie. I spent most of the time on my tablet and only watching some of the scenes. Really not worth watching.

Seeing the trailers for this I thought that I was in for a great night of laughter, unfortunately it wasn't anywhere near as fun as I thought that it would be.

This is another movie that seems to rely on a lot of swear words for half of its laughs, at least half, if not more. Don't get me wrong, there were some really funny parts and a couple of 'what the heck' moments, but there just wasn't that much, and so I didn't really end up paying much attention to most of it and I didn't actually miss anything important or feel lost or confused when I got my attention back on to the movie.

Bullock was great but it reminded me a little too much of her character Gracie Hart from Miss Congeniality, so it didn't feel like anything good or original from her. McCarthy was ok, but nothing I didn't expect from her and so it didn't add anything to the movie. For me the best parts of the movie happened in the final half hour, not very well spread out, and kind of a rushed ending which wasn't that goo.

Overall I didn't really enjoy this movie which is a shame but nothing to be done, I won't be watching this again.
