With one child who has just started school and another who is almost 4 this book came in handy as they both love books and both love reading. This book relates to my son the almost 4 year old more as its transport and things that go which is right up his alley, where as my 5 year old is interested just for the reading aspect of it.

What I like about this book is that is comes with a online book aswell with the unique code on page 3 which helps the child understand the book more with quizzes on what they had been reading and their reading skills, fun activities that go with the book, I thought this was awesome for those children being brought up in a technology world.

Each double page spread of the actual book talks about a different mode of transport like cars, bikes, planes etc. Most of the pages have a new word bubble to learn or a fact bubble to learn about some history which is great for children to build up their knowledge. There is a glossary second to back page with words and simple explanation of what that word means so a child can understand it. On the very last page is an index which I think is great in a childs learning book this can help the child go back to something they like, they can look for the word they want and find the pages easy for that information.

This book is the level 1 out of the 3 books and is just simple for age 4-6 year olds learning to read. Nice easy sentences, with easy understanding. I think its a great book for little readers to enjoy and with a online book to go with their understanding makes it a little more fun too

This book came at the perfect time as my son is starting to read words on his own and this is aimed at those just starting out reading on their own. Things That Go! is all about our various modes of vehicular transport. Each double spread page focus' on one mode of transport, ie. car, boat, train, emergency vehicles etc. There were some good ones where it showed pictures of how some of these things have changed throughout the years ie. horse and carriage to the modern truck.

One thing I feel the book could have benefited from was having, on the emergency vehicles page, the emergency number left blank as since this is going to sell in different countries 999 for emergency isn't everywhere else in the world. This book has a few extra facts that the parent may need to read to their child. At the back there is also a glossary for some of the words in the book, a good basic explanation for them.

This is a fun little book, a good price and great for helping one to learn to read.

Product reviews for listing 3267: The Ingo Chronicles - Stormswept -  Written by Helen Dunmore

Product image for The Ingo Chronicles - StormsweptMorveren lives with her parents and twin sister Jenna on an island off the coast of Cornwall, circled by sea except at low tide. One day, Morveren finds a beguiling teenage boy in a rock pool after a storm. Going to his rescue, she is shocked to find that he is not human, but a Mer boy. Morveren turns to Jenna, but Jenna, always the sensible one, refuses to face the truth. Yet when the worlds of Air and Mer meet, the consequences cannot be ignored...

An atmospheric and beautifully written novel from the author of INGO.
