Working in a daycare centre with a bunch of children who are aged between 3 months and 2 years of age means that going outside in the winter months is often rather difficult, its either always raining, to cold or to wet to be able to get out much. In a few centres I have worked at in the past we have always had wet weather pants which we have used to put on the children so that we can attempt to go outside in these conditions. However more often than not these 'wet weather pants' haven't been very waterproof as such, with the children still getting soaking wet and cold.

When I got to my current centre we received a brochure in the mail from silly billyz advertising their waterproof overalls. At first I was rather sceptical thinking is this going to be like all the others I have tried? But we decided to give them a shot, being overalls rather than pants I thought they may be more suited to a group of babies and may stay on at least.

We bought 6 pairs of the fleece lined ones as we thought that these would be perfect to keep the children warm and as we hoped considerably drier than if they were just in their clothes in the winter. I am happy to say that these have been great, not only are the children staying dry but they are also staying super warm, we have purchased all of the overalls in medium size, but these are able to be used on all our ages of children due to the adjustable straps, and roominess of the overalls, though on many of the children these are rather long, I consider this to be a added bonus as they cover there feet and so socks, shoes and little toes all stay dry as well as clothing. I have found them especially useful for playing in the sandpit when the sand is wet, jumping and splashing in muddy puddles and for sitting on wet grass. In fact clothes stay so clean and dry from the overalls I've had many parents come and ask me "do the children not go outside on wet days they are always coming home dry and clean".

Washing these is easy, as you just wash them in the machine as you would any of your clothes, and due to the waterproof nature of the clothes these are very quick drying which makes them ready in no time for another day of rainy day fun.

I would highly recommend these to others too, and have done so to many parents as we are in a farming community everyone thinks they are great and so do i.

We have an 18 month old who loves nothing more than being outside in the mud, dirt, puddles you name it. It can be so hard to explain to him that it is too wet to go outside because he would play outside all day if he could and finds it hard being stuck indoors. A friend of ours reccomended these overalls to us as she found them great for her son during the winter.

We bought a pair of the fleece lined ones as we thought they would be perfect to keep him warm and dry in the winter. This winter has been quite wet so they have got so much use!! When he wears his overalls even when he goes in puddles or on the wet grass his clothes underneath stay dry so we have managed to prevent him getting any chills by using these. I have found them especially useful for playing in the sandpit when the sand is wet.

When the sand in the sandpit is wet it clings to his clothes and skin so it makes it a bit of a pain when you want to put him down for a sleep after he has had a play. With the overalls I can just remove them and the clothes underneath are sand free so I don't have to muck around showering him and changing his clothes. The overalls are then really easy to wash just in a normal cold wash in the washing machine.

I would highly recommend these to others too, i'm glad I found out about these and will definitely be buying the next size up next year too.
