At first, I wasn't so sure about this book, out of the batch of review books I was given, this was the one I left for last. However, after reading the book I now see that it is actually quite cool! It is definitely based around an age group that is younger than me, but I still learned quite a few things that I didn't know about animals before. The book was laid out in an easy-to-read format, and there were plenty of extra facts, some of which were quite surprising.

The book was divided into sections, each covering a different topic; some of the topics included: the main types of animal, how different types of animals sense the world around them, and even how they get around in their natural habitats. It was very easy to read the book, there weren't too many complex words, and it is highly informative, so it doesn't matter if the reader is 3 or 13, there are still some cool things to learn in this book.

The artwork is interesting, there isn't 1 type of artwork in here, some of the pictures look more like they were hand-drawn, some were definitely made using CGI or 3D modelling, and some looked like they were taken off the internet; it is the variety of artwork types that have made this book more interesting, my eyes never got tired of seeing just one form of art, yet all pictures were just as informative as the words. The book sounded very accurate, the facts felt like they were true, and there were no traces of myths or false beliefs.

My overall opinion on this book is that it is quite cool, very education, and good for a wide range of ages, depending on the buyer's preference, or course.

This book looked awesome to review, once I got the book it is a nice orange colour with shiny words "everything you need to know about animals". Opening the book to the contents another bright page this time yellow. In the contents is 5 areas for the book also a topic on using this book. The area of the book are Animal variety, Getting around, Getting food, Sensing the world and Animal babies.

The book is for age 5-9 years but my 3 year old enjoyed going though it and reading it with me. I read though the using this book pages first with my son letting him know what each of the coloured boxes meant to mean. There is lots of fun to be had with this book, like can you find?, do all animals have eyes? amazing facts, animal magic, vocabulary, from the past, how it works and creative corner. You will find at least one of these things on the pages as you go, asking you questions giving you more facts about what animals are on the page.

My son loved looking at the nice bright pictures these are done so well with bright colours and the words are nice to read, my son loved pointing to the "fact" boxes for me to read and then we would look for the animal that it was talking about, we didn't just stick to reading the book page after page, he chose to skip though to certain pages that he liked the look of the animal which was fine with me.

I do however LOVE the vocabulary boxes on the pages giving you words on the page and explaining them further for those children that love learning. My son loves the creative corner boxes every time he found one he wanted to make that. I'm very pleased I got this book. I recommend this book to anyone with kids.
