Rock Around the Kitchen product reviews

ROCK AROUND THE KITCHEN combines Peter's distinctive flair with vegetarian
cuisine with Mary's expertise in health and wellness therapies.

Over the last 20 years New Zealand has experienced a significant change in culture when it comes to food. With access to a wide variety of foods from all over the world, New Zealand has become very international when it comes to taste and attitude. Kiwis have embraced the 'food wave' and this is reflected in ROCK AROUND THE KITCHEN.

ROCK AROUND THE KITCHEN is a modern Kiwi cookbook with a variety of recipes from all around the world.

The book is broken down into easy, user-friendly sections:. Where possible, preparation time has been kept to a minimum, with simplicity being the operative word. It's all about fresh food cooked quickly, for maximum results. Ten minutes is all that is required to slice up vegetables, and five minutes in the wok or pan yields maximum nutritional value.

Fresh food and great taste are the two factors that dominate ROCK AROUND THE KITCHEN. The recipes in this book can be adapted to include meat and chicken if that's your preference. Alongside Peter's delicious food recipes, Mary provides simple recipes for remedies and tonics using many of Peter's ingredients. She also gives the reader food for thought on the health benefits of some of the recipes.

Healthy skin, healthy body and healthy mind are three vital components of a happy, well-balanced lifestyle - it all comes down to what you eat and what you drink! Unleash your creative juices, sling your hook, and get out there. All you need to do is source the ingredients and then Rock Around the Kitchen.

Yum!!!

Some wonderful recipes in here, especially if you are a vegetarian - though you will have to eat fish to use the whole book.

These recipes are easy to read, and follow in the kitchen, and once they are on your plate they look good and taste even better.

With simple 'helpful hints' and the tips that Mary provides to go along with Peter's recipes, you will find this useful for a general state of wellbeing, not just another recipe book with ideas on how to fill your tummy with tasty food.

WOW! This is by far the be-all-and-end-all of funky food cookbooks! Peter Chaplin's recipes are stunning in their elegant simplicity, and the nutrtional information, hints and notes supplied by Mary Cox just adds that extra pinch of zest to them.

Covering everything from snacks and entrees, through main courses and right up to desserts and beverages, this one book could easily supply you with an entire menu for a healthy, tasty, fresh-&-funky meal.

OK, time to get down to specifics... my personal fave picks. My ideal meal menu... start off with the Kumara, Ginger and Coriander soup, with some fresh crusty french stick and a hint of garlic butter, then move on to Bergamo Peasant Spaghetti with a nice lightly chilled medium white wine, (or for seasonal variation, the Spiced Terakihi Fillets with slow-roasted Tomatoes), rounded off with a delightful Lemon and Pear Flan topped with a scoop of freshly-made Melon and Mint Sorbet.

For a summer sipper, my hit-pick would be the Pineapple and Mango Delight, or if you can get past the colour of it, the Beetroot, Celery and Apple Cleanser.

Overall, this would have to be the best cookbook I have come across in the last 3 years at least. The greater majority of the dishes are ones that I would try under certain circumstances, but wouldn't use as a regular dish... but hey, let's face it, apart from the everlasting Edmond's Cookbook, what cookbook DOES have many daily-usage recipes?! If you want 'Something a Little Different' for that special dinner with friends, you'll probably find something in here to suit perfectly.
