A rhyming alphabet book.
Ss Six small snails silently pass, leaving trails as smooth as glass.
Vv Vinny Viper's voice was hoarse. He couldn't sing a note. The vet looked in and found a frog in Vinny's throat.
Joy Cowley's wonderful read-aloud rhymes make learning the alphabet so much fun for young readers.

This is another one of those pull out the books from when my oldest girl was little books, i'mm finding so many great books that I forgot we even had. We have been getting into reading alphabet books such as this and The Tommy Kapai book T is for Tauranga and playing with our alphabet blocks and singing the abc.
I love reading this book as you are learning the alphabet while listening to a cool story. My big girl loves to read it to her little brother and encourages him to say words that he knows like his own name and mum and dad when she gets to those letters.
The book has a rhyme for each letter and most of them use alliteration too so each word starts with the same letter as well so it is very clever in the way it is written. The illustrations in it are great to they are really bright and colourful. Joy Cowley has some great books and I love to buy books from New Zealand authors and this one is one of my favourites.

Annaleah and Brian shared something special - Annaleah is sure of it. When they were together, they didn't need anyone else. It didn't matter that their relationship was secret. All that mattered was what they had with each other.
And then, out of nowhere, Brian dies. And while everyone else has their role in the grieving process, Annaleah finds herself living outside of it, unacknowledged and lonely. How can you recover from a loss that no one will let you have?
