Rice, in my family we eat a lot of it. It is a quick, easy alternative to potatoes which my kids are nkt huge fans of. Goes with pretty much anything and when you are already behind in schedule or have to head out again after dinner then its an excellent go to. Well when you can cook it right that is.

I have always struggled to make conventional rice whether rapid boiling or simmering. I follow the instructions on the package to the letter but no matter what method I choose, I still end up with a wet clumpy mess. I do not know what I do wrong but it is a fail every single time. And so, although I am a little embarrassed to admit my late discovery, I love Uncle Ben's boil in a bag rice. This stuff is a saviour!

The rice comes in pre packaged little bags that you the pop into your pot of boiling water and ten minutes later you have perfect fluffy rice! The bag has a little um handle (so to speak lol) that you can use any utensil to then lift it out of the water and the tiny holes allow you to drain any excess water out of the bag. So now I can make perfect rice. BUT I'm still yet to master the opening of the bag lol I have lost quarter of my bag of rice over the bench and floor in the past lol

Boil in the bag rice. An amazing invention lol and a great price!2 bags feeds my family of 5 too. Sometimes we need 3. Oh and it tastes super yummy too. Two thumbs up from me.

This Uncle Ben's Boil In Bag Long Grain White Rice is truly a life saver. I often enjoy having rice as part of my meal, but I have to tell the truth I can not cook rice to save myself. Yeah I know, your probably thinking how can you not cook rice? but truth be told I really can't cook rice, each time I have tried to do this I end up with super watery rice, which is mushy and resembles more chicken feed than it does rice, it sticks to the pot and then I have the ghastly job of cleaning the pan, it really is not a thing I am a fan of doing.

The boil-In-Bag rice is so quick and easy to prepare, just boil a pot of water on the stove and pop in your bag of rice and leave to cook for about 10 minutes. Every time the rice turns out amazingly soft and fluffy and evenly cooked something I was not used to before coming across this product. Obviously being a type of convenience product it is more expensive than buying a normal bag of rice, but id rather pay the price for this as I know it means my rice will turn out edible.

This rice goes really good on it's own with just a sprinkle of yummy herbs and spices or as part of a stir-fry or butter chicken. The bags contain a decent amount of rice so there is certainly enough for at least 2 serves. This is always what I buy from now on when rice is on the menu.

Boil-in-Bag Long Grain White Rice has been my friend as of late as my kitchen has been renovated and my only source of cooking appliances has been my microwave or electric wok, and having no running water in the kitchen either!! so the added appeal of an easy rice cooking container clean-up was brilliant......pop Boil-in-Bag Long Grain White Rice into a microwave safe dish and presto a yummy free flowing rice to have for a no fuss and instant dinner.

There is always enough Boil-in-Bag Long Grain White Rice left to take for my lunch the next day saving on time which is always a precious thing in the morning. Plus Boil-in-Bag Long Grain White Rice is always filling and nutritious and will not stick or clump together when cooked, sometimes sticky rice is the worst to eat.

If the instructions are followed correctly the rice turns out perfect each and every time, and even though the price is a lot for a little amount of rice the no fuss cook and no fuss clean it offers can outweigh the amount you had to pay for it. Plus Uncle Ben's is a known and trusted brand of rice and with the added benefit of Uncle Ben's unique rice preparation method, parboiling, which steams the vitamins and minerals from the outer layer into the the centre of the grain, you know it is good for you as well.

I recommend Boil-in-Bag Long Grain White Rice for all the people who enjoy good rice with easy preparation and super easy and super quick cleanup afterwards.

Boil in the bag rice is so easy, makes the wee knight rush dinner so easy! No more dirty pots - such a bonus for the person cleaning up (me!!) I find that these cook to perfection when cooked according to the packet directions.

The downside to the boil in a bag rice is that is is more expensive that other rice, and Uncle Bens only do long grain rice and not other types such as basmatior Jasmine that we tend to use more often. Boil in the bag rice tastes like rice my mum cooks, so its perfect comfort food for me!

Great product if you are in a hurry. Its not the cheapest option, but by far the easiest. My hubby takes this to work as its quick and clean to make with his favourite tuna and sauce.

It has been a long time since I last cooked rice. I hate trying to scrub the pots clean so have a strong aversion to it. A shame, because it compliments many of the dishes I enjoy cooking for company.

So when I spotted these in a huge display at the local supermarket I thought they looked worth a try. After all, it's a small investment to make for such a highly appealing possible outcome; Finally being able to prepare some old favourites again, right when the diet is starting to get a bit dull.

Found a pot, filled, heated, dropped in bag, boiled for 15 minutes... and presto! perfectly cooked rice that, sure enough, didn't stick, tasted great, and was really easy to prepare.

The only issue I had was that the slit in the seal at one end of the bag, used to stick the fork through to lift out the bag, was rather difficult to locate in a pot of steaming, boiling water.

Perhaps if they had increased the slit to cover almost the entire width, perhaps 80-90% and offset in such a way that one end could be torn loose while the other remained firm, thus providing a 'ribbon handle' to hang over the edge of the pot... easier to locate and cool to the touch (hopefully.)

Overall, a great innovation and a pleasure to be back in the kitchen experimenting with the herbs and spices, dishes and designs. Cheers Uncle... :)

Product image for Pic's Really Good Boysenberry JellyPic's Peanut Butter has met its match with our really good jelly.

What are the peanut butter makers doing messing around with berries? Making jam, that's what - but we don't call it jam because it hasn't got enough sugar. What it has got though, is boysenberries.

Glen and Maree, from Tasman Bay Berries, grow boysenberries. Lots of boysenberries. In fact, Nelson is the boysenberry centre of the Universe. ... more...
