Well, this is definitely no ordinary Frisbee! I absolutely LOVED playing with it at the park; it was extremely easy to use! It's a little disappointing that it's so expensive, I would have thought that this thing would be cheaper. The shape was cool, both the shape and the soft rubber material made using this thing much more comfortable.

One thing that I think would make this thing look more fun is if it was painted to look like one of the identity disks from Tron Legacy, that would certainly make kids want to play with this thing more! I was blown away at the shear distance this thing could travel, I nearly ran out of breath just trying to get to where it landed!

The colours were good, only the green one was a little hard to see both against the sky and in the grass, but it's not much of a biggie. I found that it flew a lot further when I threw it like I threw the Squidgie disk than if I threw it like a regular Frisbee, so that's something to remember if you try using one. I would recommend this thing for kids 6+, it's not difficult to throw, but it is very hard to catch! I am certain you will find this Aerobie product a real blast; I know I did!

This... this is utterly gravity-defying to watch! If I hadn't done it myself, I would have sworn it was a camera trick, watching a casual flick of the wrist send this ring zooming off across a playing field as though it was in zero-G... even a cross-wind didn't seem to affect it!

OK, this is a soft, rubber ring with a hard-ish plastic spine running around it. Contoured to give maximum lift and minimal drag, the ring weighs in at a mere 103 grams - that's about a third of the weight of a cup of water! And with the most casual of throws, you can easily send this for a hundred metres across clear terrain. Put a bit of effort behind it, and 300m is not at all impossible. Now, I don't claim to have a Babe Ruth arm... but I managed to send Mr11 running a good 214m with a decent throw, even with a sore shoulder hampering my throw.

The inability of this device to float kills any ideas of playtime down at Lake Taupo or at the beach, but if you pick a good spot, with plenty of open ground and few trees, you can't help but have fun, impress the friends and family (until they nag to have a go and find out it's not your super-human throwing skills at all), and keep the dog wondering if they are going to catch it before it outruns them and reaches the ground. Trust me on this, the kids will ADORE these!

Available at selected outlets, these may be a tad hard to find... but if you get stuck a quick contact through the importer's website is all it takes to get a look at the huge number of outlets in NZ stocking their gear - try the "Our Retailers" tab for retail outlets, or the "Order Forms" tab for direct phone orders or wholesale/bulk orders.

Overall, this blew my mind... and kept the kids entertained and exercised for an hour easily, before Mr3 got bored and started to play on the swings. In the end, a game was devised whereby we threw the Orbiter and tried to knock it out of flight with the ring... somewhat successfully... after an hour's practice. Wink Icon

For the ultimate Flying Ring workout this has got to be the number one choice.
This Aerobie Pro Flying Ring throws a very, very long way!!! Warning do not use in your back yard (or near water....!!) You will need a very big park and some running shoes on as this is going to keep you very fit.

Although probably aimed more for the teenage and up age range Miss three and Miss four were able to get some very good throws with this and also some catches so were not excluded from playing with this at all. Though the game ended rather abruptly when we discovered that Miss Four near water with a ring that doesn't float is a very sad thing!!!

The Aerobie Pro is incredibly aerodynamic and will throw where you want it to go. It is incredibly soft to catch so no bruised fingers.

Like the Squidgie this is packaged in cardboard with only a small plastic tie so gets a big tick in the packaging box. I also loved the strip in the centre that is a neon clear plastic so it looks pretty snazzy in flight.

This is a fantastic product and I already have a few people in mind for Christmas presents as it is a great present for someone who already has (they think) everything!
