The Void : 2 : The Temporal Void product reviews

The Intersolar Commonwealth is in turmoil as the launch of Living Dream's Pilgrimage into the Void draws near and, with the Ocisen Empire fleet fast approaching on a mission of genocide, an internecine war has broken out between the post-human Factions over the destiny of humanity.

Defying the incresingly desperate Factions is Paula Myo, the ruthlessly single-minded investigator. Beset by foes from her distant past and collegues with a dubious allegiance, she is losing a race against time, and the shocking thurth of how far some people will go to determine the course of evolution is only just dawning on her. Meanwhile, somewhere in Colwyn City, Araminta is coming to terms with the discovery that she is the Second Dreamer - and therefore on the run from just about everybody.

At the heart of all this is Edeard, the Waterwalker, who lived long, long ago, deep inside the Void. He is the Messiah of Living Dream, and visions of his life inspire billions of humans. They worship these dreams of Edeard's crusade against corruption, injustice and violence, of his struggle to hold true to his convictions in the face of temptation and betrayal, of his lovers and his battles and of his extraordinary powers, which grow in strength daily.

Edeard's gloriou, captivating story is the driving force behind Living Dream's Pilgrimage - a froce too strong to be twarted - and, as his triumph draws close, the true nature of the Void will finally be revealed.

Recently I have found myself going through a bit of a dry spell when it comes to decent reading material... and then like a bolt from the blue, a miricle from above, the nice courier lady delivered this to me. Huzzah!

As the eagerly-anticipated second installment in the "Void" trilogy, this tobe continues the adventures of Edeard, the Waterwalker in the heart of the Void, and the events outside in 'our universe' conspiring to once again put humanity in danger of extinction... but this time it's our own fault, and we could end up taking the rest of the known universe with us... if the Ocisen Empire and their new mysterious allies don't eliminate the risk first... by finishing the job the Prime's started back in the Commonwealth Saga books.

Justine is trying to fly into the heart of the Void, to beg it to stop the waves of expansion phases that are consuming our universe... waves of destruction even the nearly-omnipotent Raiel seem impotent to prevent. A little more of the true nature of the Void is revealed, and some amazing realisations are made by some very powerful beings... and not all of them are going to use the information to save humanity from it's impending fate.

Oh, and there appears to be yet another Dreamer in the world... that's three so far... and the first one is trying very hard to revome any witnesses as to his whereabouts, but he didn't figure on Aaron being quite so... resilient.

Overall, this is an excellent second installment that has me utterly DROOLING for the third and final episode... the Evolutionary Void.
