As a new Mum, there were so many things that baby "must have" - but this is one of the things I really did not regret buying!

Having a mattress protector on the bed is a life saver if there are nappy leaks or vomitting or the like, and save your mattress from getting damaged, therefore increasing its usage. When I went looking for a mattress protector, I want something that was warm and functional - and this is great.

It is 100% wool on the top - meaning no plastic-y type feeling that other mattress protectors can have. The fact that it is washable (suggests hand washing only) is great as well, as inevitably, it will need to be washed!!! I washed it on a wool wash cycle (gentle) and found it was absolutely fine.

It is reasonably quick to dry - again, very important for where we are living, with the weather being so changable.

The downside is that it is a bit pricey. I paid about $45 and saw that they are now selling for around $50. However, they are a good item to re-sell once your child is out of the cot.

I believe this mattress protector delivers on it's claims. It is easy to wash and dry. I used it on the handwash option on my frontloader washing machine then hung it on the line to dry. It dried within 2 hours on a grey winters day so I was impressed with that. It hasn't shrunk or changed shape. It is hard to tell if it has made my daughter cosy in her cot though, she hasn't changed her sleep pattern so I guess it is fine. I know she gets too hot with some polar fleeces so I like the fact it is 100% wool and made in NZ. I guess that is why it is $38 though. I think that is a little pricy. It is easy to use and makes you feel like you are providing your child with a nice and natural product so I would recommend it if you can afford it.
