Stickmen 2 product reviews

Like all good things in life - there is a sequel!

Crushed to discover at the tender age of seven that he didn't have an aptitude for drawing, Peter Vegas decided to pour his heart and soul into perfecting the art of the humble stick figure. The result was the original, quirky, and extremely funny Stickmen which elevated everyone's favorite line drawings to a hilarious new level. Following up the huge success of this first collection, Peter Vegas has now put together STICKMEN 2, again featuring more than 100 clever drawings with ingenious dialogue. Peter writes in his introduction to the new book: 'Welcome along to the second book of Stickmen. The first one was internationally acclaimed. When I say internationally acclaimed, I mean I sent my uncle Rod a copy - he liked it and he lives overseas. Anyway, welcome along to Book 2. The fabulous follow up. When my publisher said we were going to do a second book, I said cool. I had heaps of new stickman ideas lying around and mum needs a hip operation. Dive in and have a laugh. Have a few, we've sprinkled them liberally throughout the book. Here's to Stickmen!'

If you want high brow, intellectual humour, with splashings of high quality art, then forget this book - it is not for you.

If you want to laugh yourself senseless until tears stream down your face, your sides ache and your abdomen in such pain that you think you might have burst your appendix, then just dive in - but don't say I didn't warn you.

The art, by the author's own admission is basic, but the humour contained therein is anything but basic. It doesn't require you to think to hard but just to sit back and enjoy. When brought into the work place, not much work was achieved; however, work was so much more fun that day.

If you enjoyed the first book, you are sure to enjoy the second as much. I'm now waiting for the publication of a third book - if there is to be one.
