What can i say, this is another huge innovation for car security. If you can't afford a car alarm system, then this is the next best thing. I can remember many years ago when the big security marking system that was supposed to take off and become the in thing was the UV marking system. You know the special pen you used to mark all your expensive stuff in the house which could only be seen under a UV light, well think of this as the 21st century alternative and in my mind one of the best inventions in car security in a long time. Oh well enough of the flashback and onto the review. Like the Home & Office version this one consists of thousands of tiny microdots mixed with the odd pink 'flag' microdot. The booklet that comes with this kit gives some great suggestions on where to spread the tiny things and if you follow the suggestions then your vehicle will be covered from bumper to bumper, and there is no way anyone could get them all off, so you can be rest assured that your vehicle can still be identified. Like the reviewer of the Home version I too had some trouble with the NZ site, but the Australian site worked fine. With over 2000 microdots included in this vial it is certainly possible to mark both your home contents and your motor vehicle and therefore really expand the use of this product. Application of the product is very simple, if you can run a paint brush over something you can apply this product. And the little pink marker dots make it very easy to see where you have already applied your product and thus help you avoid going over the same spot twice (like I almost did). Whilst I have never had the misfortune of being the victim of a robbery/car theft, my mind is certainly alot more at ease with the knowledge that if anything is stolen from me and then recovered at least it can be traced back to me with no hassles over proving that the stuff is mine in the first place. All in all this is one very fine product and I can't wait to see what other innovations Mongoose can come up with. |

Mongoose It's best not to use the same kit for both home contents and a car. The car changes owners, home contents generally don't, so it's best to have a car marked with it's own unique PIN code. The Home/office kit contains 1,000 idMicroDots The car kit contains 2,000 idMicroDots Both have the pink identifiers. REMEMBER - YOU MUST REGISTER THE PIN CODE, OTHER WISE WHO KNOWS YOU OWN IT ? |
