This padded bike seat cover is perfect for bikes that come with a hard as rock seat...I bought mine second hand which was a bonus to I was able to save a few pingers!! But after using this seat cover I would have paid double retail price because yes it is that good. The difference it made from the very first ride was amazing, it felt as though I was riding a totally different bike.

Going back a few years when I was riding my bike, I was doing it to lose some weight and become fitter...but with the hard seat it was the last thing I wanted to do and the hard seat was a good excuse not to ride the bike...and it was one day that I was procrastinating and by visiting my friend, it was the perfect excuse not to ride my bike that I spotted the padded seat on her husbands bike and she put me onto this product and since then I haven't looked back.

Before the seat was added to my bike it was too uncomfortable to sit on the seat for too long as I could really feel my tailbone area and if I sat forward it would put pressure on my thighs which slowed me down and I felt as though I wasn't getting a great bike ride out of it because I was uncomfortable and would get tired quicker, my muscles ached faster and the whole bike ride wasn't pleasant.

The first time I used the seat I went for the longest ride because the seat was comfortable, it added that extra padding and I didn't feel any pains or sore muscles and I swear my bike seemed to perform better...whether it was because finally I was sitting on it properly and in turn riding it properly....but it was actually a pleasure to ride my bike and since then I rode my bike every day.

I can't rave about his seat enough, it really is a great product, it is functional, stylish as it doesn't look like an extra bit ontop of the existing seat it looks as though it should be there, and the price is reasonable like I said I would pay double the price!

Tucker   Review #992 - Dated: 1st of December, 2005

When I bought my bike, it came with a rock-hard seat that was simply pressure-moulded out of what could easily have been a solid piece of recycled ice-cream container plastic. It was horrible to sit on for more than 10 minutes, and I found myself straining my knees badly, trying to hold myself off the seat as much as possible, rapidly aggravating an old knee injury and causing me great pain during and after even short rides.

The difference, when I first sat on this gel-padded seat, was so extreme I actually thought my butt had gone instantly numb! I couldn't feel any hard pressure points on the points of my pelvis, and that awkward-to-discuss pressure spot males in particular have trouble with... well, there simply wasn't any discomfort there either, thanks to the groove down the horn of the seat. It was a delight to sit on, but as they say, the proof of the pudding is in the taste. I needed to try a ride-test...

After 3 blocks, when I would normally be starting to get thigh cramp from unconsciously lifting myself off the seat during the ride, I realised I was still planted firmly on the seat, my knees were not screaming at me, my thighs weren't burning, and I was actually still enjoying the ride. Also, because I was firmly planted on the seat, I had a better 'base of force' and was able to apply much greater pressure to the pedals, increasing the effectiveness of the ride without burning any extra energy.

This seat, as far as I could tell by looking at the units hanging on the wall at the shop, doesn't come in a range of funky colours or psychadelic patterns, but it's mix of glossy black and 'carbon fibre' grey is stylish, practical, and looks good even on my mostly-blue bike. However, I am sure you could find, or have made, an elastic-waisted over-cover to match your style preferences. These days, anything is possible.

Overall, a wonderful replacement to any bike owned by a sufferer of pressure-abused gluteals... any regular cyclist should seriously consider buying something like this... you will not regret it, as it will save you a lot of discomfort... and the embarassment of having to give yourself a 'discrete roadside massage' to return circulation to your important bits, such as upper thighs and, erm, well... you guys can guess, I am sure. I am also assured by a female friend who rides regularly, the seat is amazingly comfortable for the ladies too, with the central groove providing much needed pressure relief for your 'delicates' as well.
