We brought this game for Christmas so everyone could play. We have a big family lunch and before and after getting bloating this is a great way to pass the time and spend quality time together. Kids love knowing they can beat the adults and it gives everyone a chuckle when he forget a easy enough question with a good ol mind blank. In our family, players consisted on teens, adults as well as a 6 and 9 year old. They were both able to participate and enjoy the fun of board games. This style of board game is fun and a great different to the traditional game of monopoly I was raised on. It is fun whilst also being much quicker than monopoly, thereby resulting is less tears and sore losers. There is plenty of cards so you don't find you are frequently having the same question which is great. As a teacher I would love to win another copy of this game for the classroom. Students would have so much fun on wet days where they are locked inside for lunch time - WITH the added bonus of them having to read the questions. Teachers love any way you can provide additional fun ways for kids to practise their reading! |

I really enjoy a good board game, some of my favourite memories of when I was young is of playing some games with my grandparents and lots of laughter and fun. I noticed this game in the shop and thought that this would be a good game for us to try as a family, I know my kids would love to win. It is easy enough to understand, ask the kids the easy question and the adults the hard questions. The kids go first. They thought it was great that the question was nice and easy so they got to move a counter forward, the part that they didn't enjoy was if they landed on a square that moved them back again. They obviously thought it was fantastic when I had questions that they knew but I had no idea what the answer is. There are a good amount of cards so you can play and not get the same questions over and over again. It was also a plus that they could practice reading and get a bit more confident in their skills (now that they are older they still think it is great to beat mum). I would recommend this game for families with slightly older kids as there is some reading required but not to wait till they are teenagers as then they think that they know it all. A good easy game if you don't have the energy for a full-on game. |

We went to purchase the new New Zealand edition of Family Feud recently, but sadly it was sold out. As we had promised a new game for family games night we told the kids to pick something else. They chose this one 'Beat the parents' as it was a trivia style board game they wanted and this was as close as they could get to family feud. Reading the box it sounded like it would be a fun enough game, and it was age appropriate for the ages in our family. Like most board games, it comes with everything you need, and the explanation is relatively straight forward. Parents answer the questions that are aimed at children, and then the children answer the questions that adults should know the answers for. I do not know if I expected more, or the few times we have played it I have been disinterested, but I found it a little boring. My 10 year old daughter really liked it though, especially if she won lol although sometimes I really felt like she was cheating - not sure how she could possibly do that though haha So basically, you answer questions, and move across the board, and first team to get to the other end wins. That is it really. Nothing overly exciting, just a bit of fun competition and building knowledge. The questions are possibly to easy, so maybe that was why I got bored with it. However, being bored while playing board games with your kids is all a part of being a parent lol The price is ok, though I probably wouldn't pay more than $20 - $25 for it, now I know what it is like. |
