My husband will tell you that my biggest gripe is the space behind the TV in our lounge as it is so full of a range of cables. One afternoon I spent almost two hours just trying to untangle things (more because he didn't care where he was putting them in and didn't keep things untangled when installing everything!). I worry about it being a fire hazard so made it a priority to sort. For a long time now I have been saying that we need to get something to help keep them sorted. Que KIWIreviews and the Cable Camel! I was quite excited to open my latest review parcel and see a pack of the 5 cable holders in there.

I should have read the previous reviews before opening, as I too almost ripped one of them in half trying to get them out! But after struggling and realising there is a rubber band around them under the label I soon had one out and was ready to go. The installation process is really really simple, so simple it isn't much of a process! The directions on the back of the packet are easy to read and very clear, despite the packet being quite small. They have certainly put all necessary information in a small space. I cleaned the wall down a little bit before starting and then pulled the strip off the back. The Cable Camels come with the adhesive all in place ready to go so I simply pushed it against the wall. I placed a bit of pressure just to make sure then walked away for the 10 minutes suggested on the packet. Once I returned I started to sort out cables and thread them through. The five cable holder was perfect for the amount of cables we had. I do love too that you can cut them smaller if you need less, or in areas that 5 may not be enough but you only need one or two more.

The true test will be to see just how long the adhesive holds for. I am always dubious about products such as this as you don't know how they will last. I am interested to see if it stays stuck, and whether it does help to keep our cables sorted, as it certainly is easier to identify each cable and where it is going now that they run through the cable holder.

I'm sure most people will empathise with the spaghetti junction of cables/charge cords behind the tv, by the bed or on the kitchen counter that leaves you tearing your hair out wondering where the particular cord you need is amongst the mess.

The Cable camel holder can hold cable plug ends in place for ease of use so obviously I had to have it! Excitedly I received a pack of three blue foam holders that had 5 spaces on each to hold your cables, I liked the packaging; nice and simple and the buyer can easily see what they were going to get which was a real plus. I decided to fix the cable camel to the side back edge of my small table I have between my lounge chairs which also houses the TV remotes and drink coasters. I have several cords behind this table; my phone charger, laptop cord and back massager machine (love that) and I am always looking for where those cord ends have dropped to. I easily removed the sticky backing tape and affixed to the edge, pushed my cords in and wahlah it worked! The cords are now at an easy reach of myself, hubby and the kids, with the quite unexpected bonus of stopping the remote control box holder thing from slipping off the back of table. Win:Win I say!

There are so many more uses that this holder could be used for; holding pens, small scissors or even flowers. I think this is a great invention and I have already showed friends and family the wonderful uses I have found for them, an easy purchase you will not regret.

Cables are such a drama in my house so many cables it is ridiculous everyone has their own gadgets laptops, smart tv's, smart phones, ipads, iphones, portable chargers so I am constantly crawling through the spaghetti of cables everywhere. I think my 15 year old daughters room is probably my worst night mare she likes to lie in bed with a lap top and her phones and always has her portable charger on ready to take to school with her in the morning.

At anyone time she could have two iphones, a portable charger, a laptop, and a tv plugged in at the same time and I am constantly trying to figure out what charger lead is for what when I am tidying up once she has left for school in the morning. I was pretty excited to install the first cable camel in her room it stuck to the wall quite nicely by her bead so instead of seeing the multiboard with leads hanging everywhere I could tuck the multiboard behind the bed so the cables were only feeding from the cable camel which looked much more visually appealing.

It made it easier for her to keep her cords from getting all tangled up so in the morning she could just unplug the ones she needed to take with her to school and leave the other tucked safely into their slots in the cable camel ready to be re used when she got home. She will take her portable charger with her and a seperate iphone cord for the nice teachers who let you charge your phone in class so then I am only dealing with a few well organised cords if I have to go into her room for anything.

I liked how it kept the cords tidy and seperate as with the multiboard and her using multiple devices in bed we quite often had to untangle cords in the morning if we wanted to unplug a certain devide which was understandly quite a pain when she is leaving for school at 7am. She has found it handy as most of her cords are different so she can easily see which cord is for what at a glance.

I do not use a lot of cords in my bedroom but I do keep my charger and bedside lamp and I also have some string led lights I will put on occasionally this keeps them nicely seperated and tidy as I only have a small room so no space for messy cords everywhere. I would definitely use them on the occasions my son has the playstation or xbox out as the cords for that always drive me nuts with how easily they get tangled.

All in all very impressed a good price for a product that is very functional at keeping cord spaghetti at bay and not unsightly in the rooms either so a pretty good choice for us.

I have just finished installing a five-groove black cable holder and now I am waiting to see how it will go. Installing is perhaps a fancy word for a simple process: each strip comes with a built-in adhesive which is described as being suitable for almost any surface. Well, I have given it a challenge. I have an old kitchen (ok, it's an old house!) where the electrical sockets are all in the wrong place so I have wires trailing everywhere. So any product that helps to get them organised is going to be a welcome item.

However - as I said, the first set is in the kitchen. The previous owner of my house thought it was a really trendy idea to line the kitchen with the sort of formica that is more suited to the shower area of a bathroom. This creates an ugly, shiny surface that is prone to copious amounts of condensation if I dare to cook without the windows and door wide open - fun in the middle of winter! So I will be checking to see whether or not the adhesive can handle these conditions. I will be highly impressed if it does.

I am going to put the other two strips in my two other appliance-rich areas: the living room and my study. This should be more straightforward in terms of air temperature and humidity fluctuations. I don't anticipate any problems there.

I think the concept is certainly a good one. I have used insulated staples up to now but they are less flexible as they have to be hammered in place, and it is not easy to move a cable around. These cable holders are flexible; it is easy to insert an electrical lead, and just as easy to remove it again.

Incidentally, I would warn people not to make the mistake I nearly made when first removing the packaging. I wanted to extract one strip but leave the other two in place until I could sort them. Not realising that they were joined by a rubber band (concealed beneath the label) I tried to pull one out and realised only just in time that if I continued to pull it would break - so I then removed the label and took it out that way. The material is fragile and would tear easily if mishandled, but should be durable enough once in place.

The appearance of the holders is functional rather than beautiful, but it is a product that is designed to do a job and is likely to be tucked out of the way anyway. Certainly it is an improvement over the unsorted tangle that I had beforehand! I look forward to placing the remaining two and will be monitoring how the adhesive goes in my kitchen!
