It takes a very talented actor to hold the attention of the audience all by themselves and where as Blake Lively was good - she was no Tom Hanks. She did not command the audiences attention like I think she should of and at times, I wished she would just fall of the rock and let the shark just finish her.

I have heard this movie being described as Jaws 2016 and I totally have to disagree. Where as the shark parts were entertaining I find there was not enough of them. Also, it is well documented that Jaws was a hit partially due to the music and in this movie you did not have that added addition. I also was disappointed that whenever the shark attacked you did not see it happen just the before and then the aftermath of the dead body which took a lot of the excitement away for me. I did enjoy the shots of the shark and they have to be commended as this is one of the only movies I have seen where the shark kept the same body shape and size and did not change in anyway as the movie progressed.

The story is very plausible, that is until you have a possessed shark that just wants to kill anyone it finds - which really gives sharks, especially Great Whites a bad name. I am sure if a shark had the choice between a fresh whale kill and a skinny girl it would go after the whale meat every time. I loved the shots of the shark especially when it was just gliding thru the water. The shots up above as you looked down on it were terrifying as you could see the share magnitude of its incredible body - it really was breath taking.

I do have to commend the writers and Blake as every time she nicked, cut, wacked or split her skin open on the coral or the rocks, you could really feel it and as the blood entered the water you could almost feel the horror of what awaited her in the ocean. The movie definitely had its moments the only problem is you were constantly waiting for them. At the start, while she was surfing, I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the attack to happen but it took a good 30 - 45 minutes before the movie really began.

Having Steven Seagull added to the saga was a great addition as it took a lot of the time waiting away and we had something else to focus our attention on. When Blake put him on the surfboard I have never been so worried for anything in my life and kept expecting the worst for the poor little fellow.

I definitely enjoyed aspects of the movie and as I absolutely love Great White Sharks its fantastic watching one swap from being an out right killer to it just gliding peacefully in the water. When I saw it enter the wave my heart skipped a beat at the share beauty of it all. A good movie if you love sharks but if you are expecting endless action you will be left very disappointed.
