Review #15208 - Dated: 4th of December, 2015 Author: shellcruise |
A psychological, at times, suspenseful thriller regarding the murder of a family and the only survivor pinning it on her brother. Charlize Theron proves yet again why she is regarding as one of the top actresses - her acting and beauty really can do no wrong.
I do not recommend watching this when it is light out, the movie is very dark and unless the room has no sunlight coming in on your television you will miss things. Also the volume is needed to be rather loud as at times the actors mumble or their speach is drowned out by the music or other factors in the movie. You can tell it is not a big budget movie and although it can be annoying it is still very watchable. It is the sort of movie that you are constantly guessing who did it and why? The answers are given to you very early in the movie but it is done very sutterly that you don't entirely join the dots till the end.
The harsh reality of children growing up to fast and pretending to be adults and another prime example why you should not do drugs. The maturity of those involved is questioned highly at the end but you can still understand their reasoning. Although it had its moments I don't think I could sit and watch it again. It is very slow and drawn out at places but those are few and far between. It also jumps around quite a bit from todays time and what had happened in the past and while I enjoyed the explanations it took a while to get into the swing of things. It just goes to show money really can be evil and sometimes love has a funny way of showing itself.
