This product appeals to those that are conscious of the time that it may take to make a meal. The product is a stock that it falls somewhere between a paste and a liquid, which is ideal, as it has the potential to create a large volume once added to water, but takes up very little space in the refrigerator. The resealable packet comes in handy for those that aren't making family-sized portions.

I was making a lamb dish (I suppose you would categorize is somewhere between a casserole and a lamb shanks meal), but I really didn't want to have to spend a lot of time on it. This product worked well, as I was able to just squeeze some in to the pot with some water, and after a quick stir, I had a nice flavoursome stock with minimal effort, and was able to just leave it in the meat to braise. The liquid-like nature of the stock means that I'm not left with any clumps of stock if not properly stirred. the flavour is even throughout the meal.

My meal had a very meaty taste to it, and just because of the type of meal that I was making, I ended up adding some mint for an extra dimension to the flavour. But it wasn't necessary, and the meal would have still been delicious without.

This stock created a great rich meat gravy, and I will certainly be getting this in the future. It allows more control over concentration of flavour, without having to worry about clumping of powder or storage space, and the fact that it can be used multiple times, makes it ideal for me and my single bachelor lifestyle.

After trying two of Simon Gault's other products I had high expectations for this Lamb Stock and I have to say that I am not at all disappointed. I have never been a massive user of stock in the past and am only just learning the true value of it now so I am constantly discovering more things I can cook using stock. It really is a whole new culinary world out there - especially when you team using this brilliant product with a Simon Gault recipe (his website is amazing if your reading this and are interested). This is the second brand of stock concentrate I have tried and I must say that the flavour of this brand is far better, deeper and more full of true flavour that the other brand I've tried.

Lamb is not always my favourite choice of meat as I grew up with sheep in the backyard and a freezer constantly full of it however my husband would choose lamb over anything else any day of the week. It is for this reason that when this stock arrived I hid it in the pantry away from him so I could cook what I hoped to be a yummy lamb shank meal for him. In the past I have been one to grab a packet of seasoning, follow the instructions and your away however this time round I wanted to make it right and hunted out a 'proper' recipe to use and used Simon Gault lamb stock as the base for slow cooking the meat. The results were amazing, tender fall apart meat that had more flavour that any other lamb dish I have ever cooked before. I knew instantly that my husband would be wanting this meal time and time again, what's more my 20month old gobbled up a bowl full and I totally enjoyed the meal too. A complete winner in our house and I am adamant that this stock is to thank for that.

The packaging that this product comes in is great and I like that its multi-purpose, you can add a squirt or three to your cooking or measure the correct amount you need to make a certain amount of stock. It keeps in the fridge for a reasonable length of time (3weeks) and failing that you haven't used it all in this amount of time you can put the packet in the freezer or empty it into ice cube trays to freeze to use at a later date. With this in mind, plus the amazing flavour it boosts, the price is totally worth it.

I also tried out adding this stock to quinoa while it was cooking (we eat this in salads for our lunch) and was pleasantly surprised with the level of flavour which it added. Soup and stir fry's were another success and I am continuing to look for more ways to keep using this product, I just love the flavour it brings and enhances each meal. I'm so glad that Simon says "I'm really obsessed when it comes to flavour" because it means he is making amazing products for us everyday kiwi's to love and enjoy - thank you Simon Gault! Totally recommend this product to everyone, your taste buds wont regret it! ^:)

Another Simon Gault wonder! Fresh stock that you can reseal, wonderful. After years of cooking for my family and not generally using stock, but relishes and sauces to add flavour, the transition has been made easier with products like this. An amazing flavour base for any meal; soups, stews or gravies.

Used as a soup base, you can omit the lengthy process of the slow reduction of bones and spices and just add to water and speed the process up. This stock in particular is a great base for lamb and vegetable soup, a twist for our family on the original beef and vegetable soup with shin meat.

Making gravy with stock is more then one step up from using packets, it is another world away. Adding a squirt with your vege water and pan drippings makes the most amazing gravy to add to your roast meal ever. Using the very last of this stock is a must, any left would be a great loss!

A new use I am trying out is to add a little to things like quiches in place of any other liquid. A testing ground it is, but so much fun. The uses are endless. Look forward to more from the Gault kitchen.

Lamb is my all time favourite meat, and when I received this stock tor review I couldn't wait to get the slow cooker out to make a hearty lamb and barley broth. It was a little bit hard to measure the amount needed accurately, however I'm not one for being 100% correct with measurements so in it went. Usually I use a vege stock in this, as its something we always have, however after trying it with an authentic lamb stock, I'll be buying more of this!

I also used this when we had lamb chops the other night. Usually I just bake them with some mint sauce on them but this time I mixed the mint sauce with some of this stock. I wasn't really sure how it would turn out as usually stock is full liquid or powder..which I wouldn't add to my mint sauce! However It gave a very strong flavour that was quiet unique. I'm not sure I would add it directly onto the meat again...however my partner said he really like it that way.

I really love the labeling of this product, its really modern and fun. I think that it is super eye catching and these caught my eye the other day at the supermarket. I like that that they have chosen purple for lamb, yet i'm not sure why.....however the lamb on the front allows you to make a quick connection about what stock it is (along with the super big writing!) Its witty and very kiwi - I just love it!

I guess this is a little more on the expensive side, but being a unique and versatile product I do think it is priced well. The packaging is unique, and very simple to use with no mess. The only foreseeable issue is when the pack runs out, you will not be able to scrape the last of it out unless you slice the bottom open. However for awesome taste and convenience you cannot go wrong! This is an awesome product.

I love adding stock to many of my recipes but I normally keep to vegetable stocks. Lamb stock is not a common stock I can buy so was keen to give this one a go.

It came in a handy pouch, that made it easy to dispense, however do feel that there was a lot left in the packet at the end. I solved this problem by putting water in pouch and shaking it. This didn't get a proper measure, however this did not matter when adding it to my rice risotto.

I had used the stocks before so was keen to see if a lamb stock would make a nice gravy as I never have the time to make gravy to go with lamb roast. I mixed this stronger than a stock and then added cornflour to thicken. Yum this worked well as a lamb gravy and added to mashed potatoes was a perfect match. No need to even cook a lamb roast.

This was a very simple stock to use (measurements became an estimate) and it dissolved well in hot and cold water. I can see by the Simon Gault webpage that there is a number of ways that this stock could be used and am definitely keen to give these a go.

I love Simon Gault seasonings and use them a lot so when a chance to review some of his stocks came up I was super keen to give it a try. Up until now I have pretty much brought cartons of stock but never tried a concentrated one.

As soon as I received the lamb stock I knew just what I wanted to try with it a nice home made cottage pie. Usually I buy packet mixes to flavour my pies but they are full of lots of added extras and I end up with a really fake flavour. Tonight I kept it simple added some garlic, onion, mince and lots of fresh veges and a good squirt of the stock. The results were amazing the stock gave a wonderful fresh homemade taste to the pie, I didn't need to add anything else didn't even need any added salt. It was a hit with my husband too and the leftovers are already packed for lunch tomorrow. There will be no more packet mixes for me I would much rather use a stock made with no preservatives.

I really love the fact the pouch is resealable and it keeps in the fridge for 3 weeks it means there will be no wastage. I plan to try the rest of the range because if they are as good as the lamb stock they will be well worth the money!

What a prefect time of year to try Simon Gault's Lamb Stock. The weather has been cold and wet and I am wanting to make soup. I must admit that the only stock I have cooked with before is the powdered stuff (which isn't really stock and the cubes never dissolved properly) or stock I made from scratch. I was keen I use the stock to add some flavour to my boring vegetable soup.

The vegetable soup I made consisted of loads of different veggies, lentils and the lamb stock. I made the stock up as directed on the pouch with boiling water. I found it dissolved with only a little stirring and smelt great. As the soup was cooking I was so tempted to have a taste but I have burnt my tongue too many times in the past to do that again. When I dished up my bowl of soup I had an instant best friend. My cat loved the smell and every time over the last couple of days I have sat down with the soup he has been trying to get on my lap. If is appeals to an old fussy cat then it must be full of real lamb juices.

I loved the flavour of the soup too. It was just right. I didn't feel I needed to add any more salt or herbs to the soup. I will be certainly be making some more soup with this stock. It is great that it lasts for 3 weeks in the fridge but I doubt there will be any left but then.

I am keen to try the other Simon Gault stocks to see if they are as good as the lamb one.
