Station Grill Raspberry and Chipotle rub was quite a surprise. I love raspberry but didn't quite know what to expect in a meat rub. Ok so you cannot taste raspberries but it must add to the overall flavour this rub produces.

At first glance of the container I found that there were no directions on how to use this rub and on what meat. It would of been for some suggestions to be put of the packaging. I then saw the webpage and thought I would go and have a look to see what was there. Once again no directions or suggestions.

So I started by rubbing this on chicken drumsticks and roasting in the oven. Because I was also cooking for a kid I did not rub too much on or let it sit on it too long. The taste it gave these drumsticks were amazing, lifted it to the next level and the flavour seemed to have soaked right through the meat during cooking.

I then reluctantly did the same on some steak. Why I say reluctantly is because I love my steak plain, however this rub once again seemed to flavour the whole steak. I was pleasantly surprised and my son just wanted more. I cooked the steak in a cast iron frying pan (too cold outside for the BBQ) and was glad that we like out steak rare/medium as the rub does burn a little and any longer this would of ruined the flavour. For those that like well done steak I would make sure I cooked at a lower heat to stop the burning.

I am glad that I have been introduced to this rub and this container is definitely going to last a while (as you need so little) however will be on the hunt for more once I have finished. Looking forward to trying this in different ways.

When the girls heard they were having 'Raspberry Chiptotle' for dinner they were so excited. I had made steak and rubbed this on, images of raspberrys floated threw their little heads and when they were finally presented with the dinner they both looked at me and said 'where are the raspberries?'

I rubbed the Raspberry Chiptotle into the steak, and it covered nicely. I left to stand for a little while before cooking, although while cooking it did leave a lot of rub all over my pan. When placed on the plate it gave a nice char grilled appearance. I asked my husband what he thought after eating about half of his steak and he commented that he could hardly taste anything. Where as I could, every so often you would get a burst of something, it was not overly hot but you could taste the spice in it. He looked at my steak and said it was because mine was covered and he could actually see it sitting on my steak, so we swapped over. Probably a great way to do it cause got to taste with a little bit vrs a lot. The girls were not overly fussed on it and ended up giving some of theirs to our two fussy cats who first smelled it, looked at me and then hungrily ate it. I think though in the future will probably stick to my garlic when it comes to steaks.

The next night made Pork flavoured Tacos. Put the pork pieces into a bag with the rub and shook and then left in the fridge for a couple of hours. Cooking still left a lot in the pan but the taste was awesome. The pork had so much flavour and was spot on for the taste especially in the taco. It made the pork go a deep rich colour and tasted absolutely fantastic. Was great with avocado, tomatoes, cheese and sour cream.

I think this rub could last for ages, out of both meals have not touched much of the rub at all. I am looking forward to trying it out on lamb next. It smells exotic and spicy and its up to you how much taste you get out of it.

I haven't really played with a lot of meat rubs before, so when I saw these up for review I was intrigued. This one sounded especially delicious. As a Chipotle I expected this to be hot and spicy with a sweet taste as well. What I got was a smokey fruity sweet flavour with some peppery notes, but nothing overpoweringly too hot.

My first try with this rub, I got some sizzle steaks and massaged some of this rub into them. Then I did a quick fry for 1 minute each side. I used the sizzle steaks in some garlic butter pita pockets stuffed with cheese and salad. My family were pretty impressed with the meal. This is quite different fare than what we usually eat. I did the children's steak plain just in case it was too hot and spicy.

My husband and I enjoyed our steaks a lot, and I was very pleasantly surprised by the flavour. Even more so when I decided to try a little of the steak plain. It was nowhere near as nice without the rub, even though they were pretty good cuts of meat. I soon started to dip my plain steak piece into the juice of my Raspberry Chipotle steak and that saved the flavour for me again.

The next time I had this, it was on homemade lamb kebab. Again the flavour was so good, and the smell in my kitchen was divine. I can not go past this one. Of the two I received to review it was by far the best flavour-wise for me. Though, I know my husband preferred the other. Since I'm in charge of kitchen pantry purchases, however, I suspect we will have a repeat of this one well before we see the other replaced. Not that either jar have to be replaced just yet. This has been used in two meals so far and I am not even an 1/8 of the way through the jar.
