shellcruise   Review #10276 - Dated: 8th of December, 2013

I have had a huge Shark obsession since doing an assignment on them at school. I only basically knew about Jaws and based all of my knowledge on that movie but I had to visit a local boatie who showed me video footage of this beautiful shark swimming so gracefully in the water it blew me away. Since then I love anything shark orientated.

Just looking at the front cover of this book got me all excited - I assumed the book was going to be full of sharks and shark attacks. Unfortunately I was wrong!

The book is a fast, gripping read. I read within two days and that's with two small children to look after. I ended up taking it to bed and kept thinking "just one more chapter", eyes closing but had to find out what was going to happen next. This is the 6th book in the series and I am very keen to read the rest now. It tells of a young guy named Beck Granger and how through some unfortunate events he is put into situations that the normal person would probably not survive.

The story, although predictable in the fact it is extremely obvious who the bad dude is, is still told in a way that it is still interesting and you do end up learning a lot from it. I expected, from the front cover, to have sharks a plenty and was very disappointed to only have a couple of pages where a shark is actually involved (rather a let down). But, because so many other things are going on you really do not focus on that aspect of the book. I think in the whole book there was only about 3 pages where I found my mind to be wandering the rest of the time it held my attention fully.

A great book for any age group to read and like I said earlier very keen to read the rest of the series.
