As the series begins, Peter Parker has been Spider-Man for just one year. He has saved lives and fought super villains, but he is still in the process of learning how to be a true Super Hero.

Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. offers Peter the chance to train to be a real hero like Iron Man and Captain America, and learn how to finally become "The Ultimate Spider-Man." But to do that, Peter will have to learn how to work with a team of four teenage Super Heroes and while also mastering new technologies that far exceed Spidey's simple web-shooters.

Be sure to see how Peter parker goes from an average teenager to the Ultimate Spider-Man!

I was lucky enough to win this in the birthday competition and I have two boys who love Spiderman so of course it was the first book they asked me to read to them. We don't have the first book but I didn't find it mattered that much but the boys have put on a request for ,me to get them the other spiderman books.

The book was easy to read and the boys really liked the pictures and discussed the best way for Spidey to get himself out of various situations. I found the story to be the right length, long enough to count as a story but short enough not to bore the kids. In older kids/readers the story raises some good issues and gives a good chance to discuss things.

I would recommend this for any Spiderman fan or bookworms. Looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

This book is number two in the series of "Ultimate Spiderman". These books are great quality, a really good sized and well priced for a young Spiderman fan.

This book starts where the first book left off, meaning that you really need to own the first book for it to be coherent. The book presumes you have some prior knowledge of the characters.

I found that the layout of the pictures was excellent, there is a large variety of image types but the layout is consistent so it doesn't confuse the young reader. I did find that some of the images are a little "scary" and that this would be ideal for perhaps around 8 years of age.

The book is full of action, and its a kind of action that seems to be a little vacant from our televisions and books these days, this is the kind of story that was around when I was growing up. Its a typical boys kind of book and this is fantastic if t engages the reader.

My son really enjoyed the story, but the level was a little high for him and he asked a lot of questions around names and the content in the story. The story has good morals, but still hasn't fallen to the PC police. A must read for any Spiderman fan!
