Minti Children's Clothing

Price : variable

Available : since 2003

As an answer to a lack of cool and quirky streetwear for kids, Minti set out to create clothing for little people that fills that gap and that fits into the ethos "would we wear that if we were small?" - this has been the foundation of Minti's designing for the past 10 years.

Since it's inception in 2003 Minti was always set to go from strength to strength and be at the forefront of making awesome streetwear for little people, with ranges that include clever graphics on deluxe cotton garments through to Hand destroyed denim jeans and more intricate cut and sew pieces.

I love MINTI! It's something fashionable, cute and different for our kids! They are a great brand with a huge fan base! Including myself!

I do have to agree that their quality does not really match their pricing. MINTI is bad for wash fade and in the recent lines I've noticed more and more unstitching. The prints also crack and essentially that's the part your paying top dollar for because without the awesome prints MINTI would not get your money!

The prints are different from your department store stuff, stand out, are eye catching and we always get lots of comments on his clothes when we are out. I tend to buy second hand now as it is more affordable (albeit slightly) for the quality although every season they bring out a couple of pieces that I "must" have and do buy for the most part I try and limit what I buy and how its worn!

Okay quality, awesome design. Odd sizing and I to tend to find the tee's and long sleeves are smaller fitting while the hoodies seem to be larger then smaller sizing again in the pants and jeans. I would definitely recommend trying it on your child or closely checking the sizing guides if purchasing online. All in all a good kids designer brand.

I do love Minti clothes, they are original, designer awesome clothes for kids. Being designer, I know that they will be expensive but paying the amount that I do for these clothes I really do expect better quality.

This year I brought a Octopus Hood ($89.00) and Black hidden knee trackies ($69.00), After the first couple of washes both were quite faded. Even though I had only been washing them in "[link^3995^black wash^link]" and hanging them inside to dry. They had also both shrunk a bit.

The sizing is also very weird, I have an average size two year old who is wearing a size 5 Minti Hood that is almost too small.

Overall I am not impressed this year

[pic^http://bit.ly/ZAYF3M ^^T^pic]Well I am re-writing my review on Minti clothing after becoming increasingly disappointed by the brand. My previous comments still stand - the designs and prints are really cool and I love them and the quality is okay, although there are some problems with cracking prints, and inaccurate sizing that you wouldn't expect when spending so much money - but overall yes the quality is okay.

The thing that has me so annoyed was that four months ago Minti put out the orders for their 2013 winter range, and I ordered the same night orders went live. A month later some of the clothing showed up with the promise that the rest would be a couple of weeks away. Well 3 months later the second drop arrived but was not enough to cover all the orders because they had short shipped. This isn't the first time this has happened either it also happened with the Summer 2012 range.

I am left feeling really disappointed as stuff I ordered 4 months ago I can no longer get in New Zealand as they are all sold out. I posted a comment to this effect on the Minti facebook page and rather than acknowledge that they had made a mistake and apologise they deleted my comment off their wall. I know from talking to other fellow Minti addicts that this has happened to them too and I think it is a bad look if you can't accept a bit of negative feedback when you have let people down so much.

[pic^http://bit.ly/ZAZfhY^^T^pic]I discovered Minti last year after having my son and wanting to find clothes for him that were a little different. I found the webpage Kid Republic and discovered some gorgeous children's ranges including Minti and so the addiction began.

Minti clothing is quite expensive with a tshirt being about $45 and a jersey being about $70, so I only buy a few select pieces to wear as best pieces but there are always a lot more designs that I want to buy but resist the urge. The designs are very cool and eye catching and a little bit different from other stuff on the market, usually having slogans like "the best thing since sliced best" or a bright eye catching print.

The quality is okay not always what you would expect from the money you are spending on the product, some common problems are cracking to the prints, and fading of colours especially the black coloured items. You expect this from any item but Minti seems to wear out quicker for me than other brands I buy. The other thing I would recommend is to get measurements for items as the sizing is never the same. I have a 0-3 jersey from last year that still fits my son now at over 1, but I bought a 18-24 month jersey this year that was too small.
