Review #7663 - Dated: 23rd of February, 2013 Author: mizim |
Based on a true story... hmmmm... whenever a horror movie states this loud and clear on the cover, or in fact, anywhere within the movie, description or poster I am always sceptical and that always takes a little bit of enjoyment out of a film as the producers are assuming that I am dumb enough to believe it. The story that this is based upon pales in comparison to the contents of this film, but I must remember I'm not here to review that statement ^lol
It all starts with a young girl, who lives with her mum and sister, and weekends they live with their dad. It's a recent break-up, so obviously going for the, she's just had her family life disrupted she's extra vulnerable route. It's not a bad route, and obviously does create more drama as the issues to begin with only arise when she is living with her dad, but, it is also very clichéd.
The special effects are good and flow smoothly. There are plenty of chances for it, and it does a good job. The plot, well, it's what you'd expect. I certainly didn't find anything particularly new about this movie but it was a decent 1 and 1/2 hours viewing time. The length was perfect as any longer and I would have tuned out.
