I searched the internet trying to find a [[s=hunger+games]]Hunger Games[[/s]] themed edible image for my daughters birthday as I didn't fancy trying to mould a mocking jay pin which is what she wanted but I couldn't find one anywhere. Then I found out about New World's photos printing service which solved all my problems.

I took in my photo and the helpful bakery team took the photo and told me my options for size of the edible image. I had to take in two photos in the end as the first one was slightly pixelated and they told me it would'nt come out nicely on the icing which I thought was good that they let me know before hand so I didn't get an image that I wasn't happy with.

The service was amazing too I was expecting a couple of days wait so ordered in plenty of time for the birthday, but it was ready the very same day and I was very happy with the result. For $20 I got a really big image almost as big as an A4 sheet of paper so it worked out pretty cheap it just meant I had to make a really big cake.

When using it it was quite hard to remove from the baking paper, trying to peel it off I kept breaking the edge so I had to get a knife and slide it gently underneath to loosen it from the baking paper. It hadn't come with instructions so I figured this was the best option and once I realised this I had no problems. Then it was smooth sailing I just attached the image to the cake with a bit of frosting and it was all done. I had to pipe a border to hide the bits where the edge had got broken.

I expected it to be like a paper texture as it was quite thick and I have tried cupcake toppers before which have been like paper. However once it had soaked in to the frosting it softened so it was not much different than eating icing. It didn't have any flavour what so ever but the cake and the frosting had enough of this any way.
