I love these 4m kits for kids and we have bought a few of the different ones over the last few years for our arts and crafts mad daughter. She is 11 now but has probably been into these kits for a few years now getting her first one when she was about 5. As she has got older they have become more age appropriate as they do involve reading and following instructions, so when she was younger I would end up doing most of the work.

We bought this one a couple of years ago, I wasn't sure if she would think making a doll would be too young as she can be up and down with what is too babyish but she loved it. She pulled the kit out and got straight to work glueing and threading all the bits and pieces on to her doll. She did it all in quick time but was pretty proud of her finished doll which she has on the shelf in her bedroom.

It wasn't the most complicated kit she has had ones where you actually have to sew the doll or animal together with a needle but it was a good little time filler to keep her occupied and satisfy her craftiness.

[pic^http://bit.ly/WpQDEI^http://on.fb.me/WpQy3T^T^pic]Well my daughter got given one of these kits and she is only 4. She bugged me for ages to make it and I kept saying no, one day she just pulled it out and starting opening everything so i had no choice but to sit with her and help her out since the age recommended is 8 and up.

My daughter looked at the instructions and told me which bits we had to do first, the hair and clothes. I only did those bits and left everything else up to her. She was so excited putting more bits and pieces on her fairy doll.

The great thing i loved about this doll is the child can let their brains flow, they can make it their own and give it a makeover how they chose. She even got creative and asked me to make a small hair piece which she put on the front and the next time I saw the fairy it had flowers in its hair like on the box.

It seems to hold up well even though it gets played with a fair bit, something that wasn't in the box but my daughter found in my craft draw was glitter glue for the mouth and nose and wiggly eyes for the dolls eyes as the coloured pencils werent the best for showing up. The small gripe I would have is the double sided tape was a bit of a pain to use, trying to stick it to fabric was trouble, i ended up getting the glue gun out aswell.

Overall its a great little craft thing for the kids, and even though my daughter is 4 years younger than the recommended age she had a blast with it, and im sure older children will to
