Oooo i was quite excited to get to review these bars. Thank you KIWIreviews and Roshen for the opportunity.

I had not heard of these particular bars before, nor had i read any reviews on them, so did not have any previous information to sway me...which is always good i think, esp when it comes to doing reviews.

So the bars themselves are a fantastic size i think. Any larger and i truly believe there would be a lot of wasted chocolate. Now not because they do not taste good, but because they are a very rich and very filling bar that takes a bit to finish one - with the size they are....it is a perfect size!

Chocolate Fudge with Brandy was definitely my favorite. Oh yum. Like i said, definitely a very rich bar, the filling is very thick and very sticky ^:) but tastes oh so good. The chocolate is smooth and creamy and as a combination, it really is a rich treat indeed.

Chocolate Truffle with Brandy also a very nice tasty treat, but i found the flavors to be more over powering in this bar than i did with the fudge and brandy. Still a very nice treat, that i was able to finish in 2 separate sittings ^:) Apart from the stronger flavoring i didnt really notice a huge difference between truffle and fudge though.

Chocolate Fondant with Cognac was unfortunately my least favorite. This one i tried and then passed on to my hubby. The filling was lovely and thick, just like the fudge brandy, but the flavor was much more over powering and a little sickening for me. It was just a bit much for me, and i couldnt finish it. It was definitely a strong cognac flavor, but like the others the chocolate was smooth and creamy, the filling thick and sticky, they really are a rich wonderful treat. And if you are a cognac lover, i do believe this could easily become a favorite hidden somewhere in your house for those special secret sneaky chocolate fills we all need at times.

All and all Roshen have once again out done themselves. These bars are amazing, the price even better. The quality outstanding, as we have all come to expect and know we will get from Roshen. The packagings always delight me, as i love that they have that look of elegance/class, yet price wise do not cost the earth.

Roshen products make perfect gifts. The selection, price and quality are just perfect for giving something wonderful without breaking the bank, and for that we will always be grateful, thanks again Roshen...

I am honestly not a huge fan of sweet things and I found these bars very rich. I shared these with family and friends after a potluck dinner and got a huge reaction - they were a massive hit, especially with my Nana, She loved them and said they were beautiful and went down lovely with her cup of coffee. I didn't understand why this bar was stamped into squares as it could not be broken as it is filled right through, this made for quite a sticky mess especially since we were sharing the bars.

Chocolate Fudge with Brandy
I found this bar very sweet, slightly sickly. As it was almost too sweet for my liking. Had a nice consistency to it though, and stayed together much better than the Fondant with Cognac.

Chocolate Fondant with Cognac
This had quite an odd taste to it, Im not sure if it was the Cognac. It was also very runny and messy when broken, I found that when i tried to break it into two it just mashed up and the top squished into the bottom half of the bar, which didnt look very nice to hand over to the person i was sharing it with.

Truffle with Brandy
This was quite nice, It had a nice light truffle filling that wasn't too heavy or too sweet or sickly.

Next up were three chocolate bars, with the first being Chocolate Fudge with Brandy. I'm not one for liquor filled chocolate, but i did put my hand up for this gig, so I had to at least try them!

It's a rich dark looking chocolate with a dark creamy fudge running the length, making it a bit messy breaking off chunks. I've never tried brandy before, and I'm not sure if the bright orange wrapper had any influence, but I could swear there was a distinct hint of orange in the rich explosion of flavour that erupted when I tasted the Chocolate Fudge with Brandy. It seemed to be the perfect mix of thick chocolate shell and creamy fudge interior, with a smooth texture that made eating more a necessity.

Next up was the Chocolate Fondant with Cognac. The center fondant seemed to be a lot softer than the fudge of the previous bar, causing a bit of a disintegration of the bar when breaking off a piece. I do love that the creamy filling runs along the entire bar, but the ability to break of chunks is severely hampered. The proportion of chocolate and filling was again seemingly perfect but the Cognac taste seemed a little on the strong side when compared to the brandy, totally overpowering the dark chocolate.

Finally came the Chocolate Truffle with Brandy. This had a much firmer filling and made breaking off pieces a lot easier. Again the flavour of the filling was much stronger than the dark chocolate, though there was a distinct hint of cherry which delighted my taste buds no end.

From a quality point of view, all three chocolate bars were outstanding. Not being a huge fan of chocolate liquors, I struggled with the strong flavours, but would not hesitate to try other chocolates from the Roshen brand (at least nothing that came with nuts) as the texture and taste across the sample of products I sampled were exemplary.

All bars contain "two" servings. Not sure you would want to eat a whole bar at once as they do taste quite rich. Although on the plus side you do appreciate what you are eating because of the richness, so you feel like you are actually having a treat.

On all the bars the packaging is very nice. Chocolate squares on packaging accurately resemble the actual chocolate bar. Packaging contains packaging date and use by date ( approx 6 months from Date Of Manufacture to Best Before). I liked the short date as this ensures the bars will taste their best on consumption.

Inner wrapper is crisp foil which was very crackly so no sneaking open in the pantry.... I didn't like the foil at all for that reason ^:) and that it couldn't be refolded over remaining portion of uneaten bar. Difficult to break into squares as the top of the bar is stamped into squares but bar is actually a rectangle filled right through with the contents.

Chocolate Fudge with Brandy - 50gm
Taste. YUMMMMM.
The outer is a lovely soft dark chocolate with a cocoa solid of 48%. Whilst not containing any milk solids this product does have corn syrup and vegetable fats, a soy emulsifier as well as flavours and vanillin. The truffle inside was moist and a perfect truffle consistency with a rich flavour. It contains 0.6% cognac with an alcohol percentage of 0.9%. (contributed to by ethyl alcohol). The ingredients work well and you are not left with a horrible taste on your tongue after eating. You also feel like you have had a treat as opposed to eating more prolific brands where you can easily eat a whole family size bar without noticing (or is that just me!)
This bar was everything I would want from a truffle bar. Very easy to eat and very difficult to share!
I would buy these as they are a nice treat and more tasty than cheaper bars on the market.

Chocolate Fondant with Cognac - 53gm
Impossible to break into squares and slab base separated from top and whole bar became a mess.
Inner very liquid. Probably would not buy this again to consume myself as I like my bars to be breakable so I can enjoy slowly. Taste was okay though more of an artificial taste than other two though not unpleasant.

Truffle with Brandy - 50 gm
Inner had good truffle consistency. Tasted good though very similar to Chocolate fudge with Brandy.

Overall.
The foil and the construction of the bars were the two off-putting factors for me but at $1.30 a bar these are very good value for money. These bars are the perfect mid-arvo pick me up . I would use these as stocking fillers (not for the kids as they do contain alcohol) and for gift baskets. The bar wrapping is elegant enough that they add some glamour to a gift package. A nice change from the normal run of the mill chocolate bars in the supermarket.
