Review #3475 - Dated: 16th of December, 2009 Author: Tucker |
A few years back I was playing paintball and blew out my knee on a bad slide across the floor at the same time as I took a pellet at close range direct to the kneecap. Bad luck combo that has seriously affected my ability to stay fit ever since. No more kickboxing for me, alas.
Thus, my body has taken a bit of a performance hit, and I am nowhere near as fit or flexible as I once was... and that's where this DVD comes in. With an excellent range of excerisies that help to stretch and tone muscles long underutilised, for days afterwards I felt like I was recovering from a romantic entanglement with a tumble dryer... but continued use soon had me feeling great again.
My body has improved it's range of movement since I star this... not a huge amount, but enough to signal significant results to come as I continue, and this DVD makes for a great introduction to further, more in-depth studies of Tai Chi and related practices. I may even be able to restart martial arts again in a year or so... no more kickboxing, for certain, but maybe a return to some basic kung fu or ninjitsu.
Overall, an excellent investment if you are in the least bit curious about a low-impact way to get your body working better. With just under an hour on the disc, this *is* only an introduction, as the title implies, so don't expect a full workout.
