What a great idea, take your ordinary power inverter for your car, give it some delightful styling to be both asthetically pleasing and functional by fitting into you cars cup holder and you have the Targus 100W Auto Power Inverter. This little beauty claims it can deliver 100W of continuous power or 150W peak power, so I decided to give it a test. First off was my notebook which draws a continuous 65W, so I plugged in the inverter, placed it in the cupholder and started the cars ignition (hey with a constant power drain on the battery I wasn't going to risk the battery running flat, and besides most people would use this whilst on the move.) and I plugged in the laptop power supply and fired it up.

Well to no ones surprise everything went swimmingly the laptop battery got charged and and the laptop itself ran flawlessly, so it was time to test the maximum drain 100W, so I rummaged around in the shed and found an old 100W work light I remembered I had lying around. Considering the age of the light I decided to test it on a wall socket first t make sure I wasn't going to be needing to claim on any car insurance claims in the near future. After finding I needed a new 100W bulb, I swapped that out for a new one and plugged it in. It went beautifully as well.

Overall this little unit performed well with no issues what so ever and I simply cannot find anything to fault it.
