As far as i'm concerned, this is a delightful place to dine in, and enjoy a coffee and something to eat.
People need to start realising, wherever you go, prices are going up. Its the way it goes.
The owner is not a rude person, he is simply passionate about his business, which might I add, just celebrated its 20th birthday! So he must be doing something right!
Also about the staffing issue, like any work place, there are those arrogant people who think they are gods gift to us all, and simply need to grow up and stop being so nasty to employees. This contributes to perhaps bad moods.

Food (and I like to think I know a lot in this area) rated an 'average' while the prices reached a whopping 'ummmm no' from me.
For All right food I would not pay those prices, and I think possibly the best priced item in the store is either the decently priced milkshakes, but at $3.50 a bottle for lift+ i'd ratther go over to countdown to get TWO bottles for the same price.
Most of the staff are friendly and polite, as I know many of them, but the boss, I'm sorry to say, for someone who has been in the business for SEVENTEEN years needs to pull his head out.
The location of the store, It's in a prime position for shoppers laden with items from KMart across the way, who physically can't walk an extra 50 meters to FoodCourt for better deals and nicer food. Though I would personally walk the extra distance, possibly to go to 'maccas' or one of the more exotic stores, maybe even Gourmanderie (ironically owened by the same person) who has slightly less nice staff, but the food is of a better quality and is nearly all produced in the kitchens at Graemes.

Good for a quick bite to eat after shopping. Handy location and indoor/outdoor seating is a bonus.

Good, varied selection of cabinet food, along with a selection of food you can order (e.g fish & chips). Food is on the expensive side. Graemes make nice milkshakes.

A coffee shop positioned in prime position like this in the plaza should know that it has a corner on the passer-by-hungry-now market and capitalise on this by making people want to come back and eat there again. Graeme's does not do this, apart from the delightful appearance and settings that has come from their redecoration, i'm sorry to say i am far from happy with this place. The food is overpriced ($2.60 for a bottle of coke!), the food is stale or cold, the bread on my sandwich could have held up a piano while the cheese was soggy! there is nothing worse than soggy cheese, and at $2 for HALF a sandwich definately not worth the money. the staff are rude and abrupt almost throwing the ice coffee (no sugar in it) at my partner, and then looking at us until we fled from their sight, i hoped that my experience was a one off but from reading the other reviews that this place has received i'm afraid that this is one horse that is dead.

the lady who served me was delightful, but the boss (who i had seen at his other store in the foodcourt) was again storming around looking seriously annoyed at having his staff chatting pleasantly to a paying customer. they were not gabbing and holding up the queue, i was the only one in the store! and with these prices, i can see why. a can of drink, a muffin, and a single sandwich set me back over $10! totally over the top, and there was nothing special that justified such rip-off prices. when i asked why the prices were so high, i was treated to a tirade of rude commentary from the 'boss' along the lines of 'that's the price, like it or leave it'.
so i left it. he got to keep most of his precious food (i had bitten the sandwich, so paid for that), and i got to have the same food at another place for about half the price, and that included a slightly more up-market drink, instead of the can of coke i started off wanting. well done to the owner of this coffeeshop, you have lost a customer. shame though, despite the huge pricetag, the food smelled delish, and it is convenient for shoppers.
Just to keep this in perspective, i was last a customer of this place over a month ago, so if anything has improved, i dont know about it. i have been waiting to get a picture of this place before i wrote a review.

I walked past the back door of this place the other day and there was a revolting stench coming from their kitchen. That sort of thing should be investigated by the health department or council. It put me right off eating for about 2 hours, it smelt like roadkill.

That wouldnt be from the kitchen, tat would be from the WheelieBin located next to the door. No offense
